For all shadows and sun, I feel the call here to
                                     reclaim these handful of seeds
                          marigold scatter them to warm
                                     a crippled star
and throw its horizontal light across
thaw the stories with the most oceans
and flat planets, melt the center of
              my galaxy with this distraction
through the dew I’ll throw rivers, trees, and spiders
into the craters we’ve made out of death—
                                                        I am unnatural erosion
in full light trying to keep the Earth revolving
           watching us leave our bodies
compressed by years of sediment.
